Sri Lanka Tourism numbers : What’s predicted for February?

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is off to a strong start in 2025, with over 300,000 visitors recorded so far, signaling continued growth. 

February has already seen a surge in arrivals, with 44,293 tourists visiting in the first five days alone. 

As of February 09, tourist arrivals recorded were at 79,678. Total arrivals in 2025 was reported at 332,439. 

With daily arrivals averaging 8,859—exceeding last year’s figures—the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) aims for 310,937 visitors this month, following a record-breaking 252,761 arrivals in January. 

However, January’s total fell short of the initial projection of 305,687.

India, Russia, the UK, China, and Germany remain top source markets, while other key contributors include France, Poland, Australia, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh. (Newswire)
