
Anti-immigration protests broke out in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom, following a knife attack that left a man seriously injured.
Police have charged a 30-year-old Sudanese national with attempted murder in connection with the attack, which took place in north Belfast.
The incident triggered demonstrations in several parts of the city, with some protests escalating into violence. Local media reported that vehicles were set on fire, properties were damaged and clashes occurred between protesters and police.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said officers came under attack during the unrest and urged people not to engage in violence or spread misinformation online.
Political leaders condemned the disorder and called for calm, while authorities continued investigations into both the stabbing and the subsequent disturbances.
