The National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd has issued a notice requesting the temporary deactivation of rooftop solar systems with a capacity exceeding 300 kilowatts due to lower electricity demand during the holiday period.
According to the notice, the affected rooftop solar systems are required to stop generation between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily from August 27 through Sunday.
The temporary measure has been introduced as electricity demand is expected to remain low during the holidays, requiring measures to maintain the stability of the national power system.
Rooftop solar operators covered by the directive have been requested to comply with the specified deactivation period. (Newswire)
