
Sri Lanka’s national cricket team has decided to donate the tour money and match fees from the Pakistan series to assist those affected by the devastating floods and landslides across the country, Head Coach Sanath Jayasuriya said.
In a statement issued on behalf of the team, Jayasuriya said the players and support staff are saddened by the situation faced by their fellow Sri Lankans and expressed heartfelt concern for families impacted by the disaster.
He added that the team will continue to do more once they return home, as further support efforts are planned to assist those in need.
The head coach also urged the public to stay safe, follow official guidelines and look out for one another during this difficult period, reaffirming the team’s solidarity with all Sri Lankans. (Newswire)
