
Showery weather in southwestern Sri Lanka is expected to increase over the next few days starting Saturday, September 19, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is expected in some areas of Sabaragamuwa province and the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are forecast in several areas of Uva province and the Mullaitivu, Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2 p.m.
The Department of Meteorology has urged the public to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
