A magnificent showcase of talent, dedication, sportsmanship and the enduring spirit of swimming
The 64th SSC Swimming Gala 2026 was successfully held on 24 October 2026 at the prestigious Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Swimming Pool Complex, marking another memorable chapter in the club’s proud sporting history.
Organised by the SSC Swimming Section under the guidance of the Swimming House Committee, the annual gala brought together talented young swimmers across various age categories, providing them with an outstanding platform to demonstrate their abilities, determination and commitment to the sport. The event reflected SSC’s continued dedication to promoting aquatic sports, nurturing emerging talent and encouraging excellence among the next generation of swimmers.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including SSC Honorary Secretary Mr. Vasantha Wijesekara, Deputy Director of Home Lands Mr. Mansoor Rishad, Managing Director of OSTAP Mr. Mahinda Gunawardane, together with members of the SSC Executive Committee. Their presence and encouragement added further significance to this prestigious sporting occasion.
The successful organisation of the gala was made possible through the dedicated leadership of Mr. Dhananjaya Rubesinghe, Chairman of the SSC Swimming House Committee, together with the commitment, coordination and collective efforts of the Swimming House Committee members. Their dedication and teamwork played a vital role in delivering a well-organised and memorable event.
Beyond the competitive performances in the pool, the gala celebrated the values of discipline, perseverance, confidence, friendship and true sportsmanship.
