On 27 September 2026, ITC Ratnadipa Colombo will host Ceylon Gemlogue 2026, a gathering unlike anything Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry has seen before. For the first time, world-record-holding cutters, international luxury voices, mining scientists, government policymakers and the country’s most influential traders will converge on a single stage to chart the next chapter of Ceylon gems.
Presented by Ceylon Gem Chronicles, Ceylon Gemlogue 2026 is designed not simply as another industry conference, but as a meeting point between Sri Lanka’s extraordinary gem heritage and the ideas, expertise and international relationships, combining with an immersive expedition through Sri Lanka’s gem heritage, a high-level international conference, an exclusive VVIP dinner and a world-class gemstone cutting masterclass that could shape its next chapter.
Beginning on 24 September, the Gemlogue Expedition will take international delegates into Ratnapura’s mining regions and gem markets in Beruwala, as well as through Yala, and Galle. The journey is designed not only to reveal the origins of Ceylon gems, but also to showcase Sri Lanka’s wildlife, heritage, culture, coastal destinations and hospitality to international visitors.
Ceylon Gemlogue features an exceptional international line-up including Katerina Perez, one of the leading voices in high jewellery and luxury; Victor Tuzlukov, multiple Guinness World Record holder in gemstone cutting; Peter Lyckberg, internationally respected geologist and mineral explorer; The Mansoor Siblings, materials scientist and gemmological education specialist; and renowned gem cutter and author Justin K. Prim.
The main conference on 27 September at ITC Ratnadipa Colombo is also set to feature a major Leadership Panel bringing together the Hon. Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe, the Chairman of the National Gem & Jewellery Authority, Prof.S. P. Chaminda and three international experts to discuss the future of Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry.
It is a conversation the industry has long called for: the people who set policy sitting down, in public, with the people who shape global demand.
The event seeks to position Sri Lanka beyond its traditional identity as a source of exceptional gemstones, focusing on craftsmanship, value addition, branding, innovation, education and sustainable development.
