Continuing its practice of providing senior management and secondary school teachers with exposure to the fields of career and college counselling, Gateway once again had a strong presence at the 10th Annual IC3 Conference & Expo 2026, held on 19 and 20 August at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India.
The landmark event brought together nearly 2,000 delegates from across the global education community, including school leaders, university representatives, counsellors and education professionals.
Representing Gateway were Ms. Thusitha Simon, Chief Operating Officer of the Gateway Group; Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep, Deputy Principal of Gateway College Colombo; and senior staff members from Gateway Colleges Kandy, Negombo and Dehiwala. Their participation provided Gateway with an opportunity to engage with leading international education institutions and contribute to important conversations on the future of higher education and student pathways.
The 10th annual IC3 event marked a significant milestone for the IC3 Movement, with a central focus on counselling and well-being. Under the theme “Looking Deeply; From Information to Insight,” the conference explored how schools and universities can better support students in making informed and purposeful decisions about their education, careers and futures.
Gateway College’s relationship with IC3 extends beyond participation, with Gateway College serving as a regional partner of the IC3 Movement. In recognition of the partnership and IC3’s 10th anniversary, Gateway presented a commemorative memento to Mr. Ganesh Kohli, Founder of the IC3 Movement. The presentation celebrated IC3’s decade-long journey and Gateway’s longstanding association with the organisation.
A particular highlight of the 2026 conference was Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep’s participation as a high school delegate and panellist. She shared insights on “Recruiting Gen Z from the Global South,” alongside three other panellists representing the university and counselling sectors. The discussion examined the changing expectations of Generation Z students and the evolving landscape of international higher education.
The conference also provided extensive networking opportunities, enabling Gateway representatives to strengthen connections with universities, schools and education professionals from across Asia and beyond. These connections have the potential to contribute towards creating more diverse and accessible higher education pathways for students in the region.
Gateway College’s active involvement at IC3 2026, both as a regional partner and as a contributor to the conference programme, reflects its continued commitment to engaging with global developments in education, strengthening international partnerships and expanding opportunities and pathways for its students.
