Laptop.lk, together with Lenovo, has completed a meaningful national CSR initiative, providing 50 brand-new Lenovo laptops to 50 deserving university students from across all 25 districts of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Under this initiative, two students were selected from each district, with special consideration given to outstanding academic achievement and financial need, ensuring the laptops reached talented young Sri Lankans for whom access to technology can make a real difference.
The special ceremony, held at 606 The Address, Colombo, was honoured by the presence of Mr. A.B.M. Ashraf, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister; Mr. Mohamed Ismail Famy, Chairman of Technocity Group; Mr. Minhaj Farook, Director of Laptop.lk; Mr. Naveen Kejriwal of Lenovo; and Mr. Shekhar Karmakar of Lenovo.
“Talent should never be limited by circumstances. These students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and achievement, and it is our responsibility to give them the tools and opportunities they need to build a brighter future. We are proud to support their journey and invest in the next generation of Sri Lanka,” said Mr. Mohamed Ismail Famy, Chairman, Laptop.lk.
The recognition continued at the Lanka Premier League 2026, where outstanding performers of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination were presented with their brand-new Lenovo laptops on the ground, a celebration of talent, determination and opportunity in front of the crowd, marking the next step in these students’ educational and professional journeys. The event was attended by Mr. Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of Sri Lanka.
