The flagship events of Sri Lanka AI Week 2026, pioneered by the Ministry of Digital Economy and SLT-MOBITEL, officially opened today at Monarch Imperial, Colombo, graced by Hon. Eng. Eranga Weeraratne, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka AI Week 2026 commenced on 25 September, with its flagship AI Conference and AI Exhibition taking place on 29 and 30 September, bringing together leading voices, innovators and technology companies shaping the future of artificial intelligence. The two-day Conference features more than 60 speakers from 16 countries, while the AI Exhibition brings together over 35 exhibitors, showcasing the transformative potential of AI through technologies and solutions from global and local brands, including Huawei, ZTE, Sampath Bank, snowflake, EDOTCO, Connex, and NCINGA.
Hon. Eng. Eranga Weeraratne graced the occasion, while the opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala, Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy, Rtd. Air Vice Marshal Bandula Herath, Director General of Telecommunications Regulatory of Sri Lanka, Dr. Mothilal De Silva, Chairman, SLT Group, Mr. Riyaaz Rasheed, CEO, SLT-MOBITEL, and other distinguished guests and invitees.
The AI Exhibition will remain open tomorrow, 30 September, from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. at Monarch Imperial, Colombo, offering visitors the opportunity to experience AI and see its applications first-hand. Visitors can explore AI-powered technologies and solutions, engage with emerging innovations, and discover how global and local technology companies are applying AI across industries and everyday experiences.
