The Faculty of Brands officially launched on 9 March at an event attended by members of Sri Lanka’s marketing and advertising industry, marking the start of its efforts to drive collaboration with global and local experts and industry bodies to bring much needed practical marketing and branding knowledge to the industry. The initiative aims to build the confidence and capability needed to position Sri Lanka as a formidable force in the world of creativity
Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer of The Faculty of Brands, Gayendra Rajapaksha, said the initiative was created to help bridge a key gap faced by many professionals entering the industry.
“At The Faculty of Brands, we believe that Sri Lanka has more than enough talent to shine on the global stage. If our country’s stories and our brands’ stories are crafted the right way, they can play a powerful role in uplifting our economy. But between where we are today and that stage, there is something very important we need to build. Knowledge. Confidence. And most importantly, belief. The belief that we can.
Our goal is to make that journey a little easier by sharing practical knowledge in digestible and curated formats so that professionals and industry teams can continuously learn, grow, and strengthen that belief that we can compete globally.”
The launch event also marked the beginning of a collaboration with Teodora Migdolovici, founder of The Alternative School Creative MBA programme. is an award-winning brand consultant, educational practitioner, lobbyist, and private diplomat. She pioneered the Creative MBA concept, launched globally in 2015.
