Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has reaffirmed his support for Sri Lanka’s artistic community by donating Rs. 500,000 to the welfare fund of the Sri Lanka Singers’ Association at a fundraising ceremony held in Colombo.
Addressing the gathering, Premadasa emphasized the importance of supporting artists, noting that music provides mental relaxation and helps relieve stress.
He further pledged to continue serving the country’s artists to the fullest extent possible, following in the footsteps of his father, former President Ranasinghe Premadasa.
The donation was made in response to a request by representatives of the Singers’ Association, aimed at assisting artists facing financial difficulties. (Newswire)
