
A group of detainees who climbed onto the rooftop of D Ward at the Boossa Prison and engaged in unruly behaviour, causing damage to prison property, was brought under control last night (16), the Prisons Spokesperson said.
The Department of Prisons said inmates involved in the unrest at the Boossa High-Security Prison will be transferred to other facilities.
According to the Prisons Media Spokesperson, a group of inmates climbed onto the roof of D Ward last evening and staged a protest against the prison administration, during which prison property was damaged.
The situation was brought under control following the intervention of prison officers and the police. The Department of Prisons has launched a special investigation into the incident. (NewsWire)
