The Police Constable, who was remanded over allegedly assaulting a lawyer within the Mount Lavinia court premises, received a grand welcome after being granted bail over the incident today.
The Police Constable was released on two sureties of Rs. 200,000 each after being produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s court today.
He was arrested and remanded over allegedly assaulting a lawyer during a dispute over moving a vehicle within the Mount Lavinia court premises on Friday (10).
Upon being released on bail, the Police Constable received a grand welcome, with many surrounding his vehicle, yelling congratulations and later carrying him on their shoulders. (Newswire)
