The wife of a restaurant owner who was critically injured in a shooting outside the establishment in Nagoda, Kalutara, has died in hospital.
Two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the restaurant owner and his wife outside the establishment at around 7.40 a.m. on October 9 before fleeing the scene.
The restaurant owner died at the scene, while his wife, who sustained serious injuries, died early this morning (11) while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Nagoda Hospital.
Police said the deceased woman was 52 years old and a resident of the Dodangoda area.
Kalutara South Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
