Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has held discussions on the possibility of hosting the Miss Universe pageant in Sri Lanka, a move that could boost the country’s tourism profile and international visibility.
Herath met Olivia Quido, Vice President of Global Partnerships at the Miss Universe Organization; Caroline Jurie, former Mrs. World 2020 and Founder and Chairperson of Caroline J Global Holdings (Pvt) Ltd; and Nishan Deepal and Kusal Perera, Co-Founders and Directors of Caroline J Global Holdings.
According to the Foreign Minister, the meeting focused on the opportunities that hosting the international pageant could create for Sri Lanka, particularly in promoting tourism and increasing the country’s exposure to a global audience.
The discussions also explored how an event of this scale could help position Sri Lanka as a destination capable of hosting major international events. (Newswire)
