A man was killed and several others were injured in a shooting inside a barber shop in the Jinthupitiya area of Colombo a short while ago, Police said.
According to Police, the gunfire occurred inside the premises of a hair salon in the area. One person died from gunshot injuries while several others sustained injuries.
The injured were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment. Further details regarding the victims and suspects were yet to be released at the time of reporting.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident earlier today, a 32-year-old man who was injured in a shooting in the North Madiya Mankada area of Kalutara died after being admitted to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital.
Police said two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle had carried out the shooting.
Investigations into both incidents are underway. (Newswire)
