The fares charged for transporting schoolchildren will be increased by 5% due to the increase in diesel prices, the All Island Schoolchildren Transport Association Secretary, Lalith Chandrasiri, said.
Expressing views to the media today (10), he stated that although fuel prices were revised on several occasions, due to the prevailing situation in the country, no change was made to transport fares.
Accordingly, he said that the relevant fare revision will come into effect from today. (Newswire)
