ICE narcotics found in bags of road accident victims

Police in Kotadeniyawa uncovered 350 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) in the travel bags of two men injured in a road accident in Dorowwa on Sunday evening (06).

According to the Police, the collision between a bus and a motorcycle left the rider and pillion passenger seriously injured. 

They were first admitted to Dambadeniya Hospital and later transferred to Kurunegala Hospital under Police protection for further treatment.

During investigations into the accident, officers of the Kotadeniyawa Police Station inspected the victims’ belongings and discovered the narcotics.

The suspects, aged 21 and 25, are residents of Grandpass and Wellampitiya. 

The Police said that the drugs were taken into custody and that further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
