The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in the Eastern, Uva, Central, North-Central, Northern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and the Hambantota and Kurunegala districts.
According to the department, the weather advisory is effective until 11.00 pm today (28 Apr).
Warning that there may be strong winds during thundershowers, the department requested the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
