
The Podcasters’ Association of Sri Lanka brought together more than 100 podcasters, digital content creators and media professionals in Colombo on Aug. 20 to discuss the future of the country’s digital media sector.
The forum, titled “Exploring the New Media Landscape,” was held at the Granbell Hotel under the theme “Navigating Sri Lanka’s Evolving Media Landscape: Challenges, Opportunities, and Sustainable Creator Growth.”
Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathne said the government was committed to supporting the growing creator economy and fostering an environment for sustainable careers in digital media.
Association President Namini Panditha highlighted the role of digital media in civic participation and called for greater collaboration between independent creators and traditional media.
Discussions also focused on digital entrepreneurship, monetization, audience development, intellectual property, privacy and data protection. (Newswire)
