Multiple monitoring stations have now recorded Minor to Major Flood levels, with rivers including Kelani, Mahaweli, Yan Oya, Maha Oya and Attanagalu Oya showing rising trends.
Low-lying areas near these river basins face a high risk of inundation. Authorities urge residents to remain alert, move to safer locations if necessary, and strictly follow instructions issued by Disaster Management officials.
Motorists are advised to avoid flood-prone roads and exercise extreme caution.
