A new group of 29 Sri Lankan female workers will depart for Israel on July 7 and 9 to take up jobs in the home-based caregiving sector, under a growing employment programme supported by the Israeli government.
The official handing over of air tickets to the selected workers took place yesterday (July 4) at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).
So far in 2025, a total of 379 Sri Lankan caregivers have secured job opportunities in Israel. These placements fall under a bilateral agreement between the Sri Lankan and Israeli governments, which facilitates employment for trained Sri Lankan caregivers in Israel’s domestic caregiving sector.
According to the SLBFE, 2,269 Sri Lankans have been recruited to Israel’s caregiving sector under this agreement to date. (Newswire)
