
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi during his visit to attend the AI Impact 2026 Summit.
Prime Minister Modi welcomed President Dissanayake and thanked him for accepting the invitation to participate in the summit, the President’s Media Division in a statement said.
The two leaders held bilateral discussions and exchanged views on strengthening the longstanding relations between India and Sri Lanka.
Talks focused on expanding cooperation in economic, trade and cultural sectors, as well as enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest, the statement said.
President Dissanayake also expressed gratitude for India’s assistance to Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah, it added. (Newswire)
