Iran has rejected a US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, setting out five conditions for ending hostilities, according to Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV.

Press TV, quoting a “senior political-security official” whose identity was not disclosed, reported that Iran will end the war only when its own conditions are met.

“Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met,” the unnamed official was quoted as saying.

According to the report, Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that Tehran is seeking a complete end to the war rather than a temporary ceasefire.

Press TV said the official outlined five key conditions for ending the conflict:

• A complete halt to what Iran described as “aggression and assassinations”

• Concrete mechanisms to ensure the war is not reimposed on Iran

• Guaranteed and clearly defined payment of war damages and reparations

• An end to hostilities across all fronts, including groups aligned with Iran across the region

• International recognition and guarantees regarding Iran’s sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz

The report also said Washington has been pursuing diplomatic talks through various channels, but Tehran considers the US proposals to be “excessive” and insufficient.

The development comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with global concern growing over energy supply disruptions and the potential expansion of the conflict across the region.

Neither US officials nor Iran’s foreign ministry have publicly commented on the Press TV report so far. (Newswire)
