Sri Lanka has appointed two senior diplomats as heads of mission to Lebanon and Malaysia, with both envoys recently assuming duties.
Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to the Lebanese Republic, Anura Withanage assumed duties at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beirut on Monday (06), where he pledged to strengthen bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Lebanon while improving services for the Sri Lankan community.
Addressing embassy staff, Withanage expressed appreciation for their dedication during a period of uncertainty in Lebanon and stressed the importance of continued commitment in advancing diplomatic ties.
Meanwhile, High Commissioner-designate to Malaysia, Dharshana M. Perera assumed duties at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on 31st March.
Speaking to staff, Perera highlighted the need to enhance relations with Malaysia across political, economic and cultural sectors, while also improving support services for Sri Lankans living in the country. He called on the team to align their efforts with the government’s broader agenda of strengthening international engagement and delivering benefits to the people. (NewsWire)
