Sri Lanka has been highlighted as a growing tourism destination for South Koreans, with two VVIP Buddhist delegations visiting the island in December.

A 120-member group, including senior monks from the Jogye Order, arrived on Dec. 1 for a pilgrimage tour.

A second delegation of 150, led by Ven. Hyeil of Haeinsa Temple, arrived on Dec. 10 and was welcomed with cultural performances at Bandaranaike International Airport.

Supported by Sri Lanka Tourism and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Korea, the visits aim to strengthen religious and cultural ties while promoting Sri Lanka as a key Buddhist travel destination. (Newswire)
