The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre has issued a severe lightning advisory for the districts of Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle, and Matara.
The advisory, issued at 12:30 p.m. today, will remain in effect until 11:00 p.m.
According to the Department of Meteorology, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur in parts of these districts. The public is also warned of temporary localized strong winds during thunderstorms.
Public are advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of injury or property damage due to lightning activity. (Newswire)
