
A delegation from the United States House Democracy Partnership (HDP) met with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Wednesday (10) at his office in Parliament, focusing on strengthening democratic cooperation and bilateral ties.
The visiting delegation, currently on an official tour of Sri Lanka, has been engaging with several leading political figures.
Discussions with Premadasa centered on parliamentary cooperation, democratic governance, legislative processes, and opportunities to reinforce the longstanding relationship between Sri Lanka and the United States.
Both sides also exchanged views on policy development and the contemporary political and economic challenges facing Sri Lanka. The meeting was described as furthering democratic collaboration and mutual understanding between the two nations.
