Several spells of showers are expected in parts of Sri Lanka on Saturday (22), while fairly strong winds of up to 40 kmph are forecast in several areas, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may also occur at a few places in the Ampara, Monaragala and Batticaloa districts after 2 p.m.
Mainly dry weather is expected elsewhere.
Meanwhile, fairly strong winds of around 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the North Central and North Western provinces, and in the Mannar, Trincomalee, Hambantota and Matale districts.
The public has been advised to take precautions against damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
