N-able, a leading systems integrator and technology solutions company in Sri Lanka, and Stanchion, a global payments technology and services company jointly hosted an exclusive Executive Briefing titled “Enabling the Next Phase of Digital Card Issuing Experiences” on the 3rd of June 2026, at Hilton Colombo. The invitation-only event brought together senior banking executives and financial decision-makers from across Colombo for an evening focused on the future of digital payments.

The evening was distinguished by the presence of His Excellency Matthew Duckworth, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, who served as Guest of Honour. Highlighting the importance of international collaboration and investment in Sri Lanka’s digital future, His Excellency stated that “Australia supports Sri Lanka’s continued economic and digital transformation. We welcome partnerships that bring expertise, investment and innovation into the market and we are keen to see deeper engagement between Australian, Sri Lankan and global firms in this space.”

A highlight of the evening was the formal announcement of a strategic partnership between N-able and Stanchion, a collaboration that unites N-able’s deep local market expertise with Stanchion’s flexible technology and specialist services, as well as its internationally proven Payment Fabric technology. Together, the companies aim to help Sri Lankan banks accelerate the adoption of mobile-first digital card issuing capabilities, from digital wallet enablement and network tokenisation to enhanced security features and virtual card innovation.

Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to modernise payment environments while managing risk, complexity, and customer expectations. By combining Stanchions global payments expertise with N-ables local market knowledge, we are helping banks navigate that change with confidence. Together, we bring trusted expertise, practical innovation, and proven payment modernisation capabilities that enable banks to unlock new opportunities, enhance security, and accelerate the delivery of modern payment experiences, said Norman Frankel, Chief Growth Officer at Stanchion Payment Solutions.

Sharing the same perspective, Shirantha Herath, Chief Executive Officer of N-able stated that “Sri Lanka’s banking sector is at a pivotal moment in its digital evolution, and this partnership with Stanchion gives our financial institutions access to world-class payment technology backed by proven global expertise. At N-able, we are committed to ensuring that this capability is delivered with the local depth and implementation rigour that our banking partners expect. We are excited about the impact this collaboration will have on the future of digital payments in Sri Lanka.”

The briefing session guided attendees through the evolving digital card issuing landscape, from foundational tokenisation and digital wallet integration to Dynamic CVV2 fraud prevention and self-service card controls. The conversation challenged participants to benchmark their institutions against the pace set by global neobanks, and to explore practical pathways for modernising their own issuing platforms.

Frankel acknowledged that a grant funding from the Australian Government through Austrade’s Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) program also made this collaboration possible.

The briefing was followed by a curated wine tasting experience, accompanied by dinner and networking, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with subject matter experts from both organisations and continue candid dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing card issuers in Sri Lanka today.

With the partnership now formally underway, N-able and Stanchion have signaled their intent to work closely with local financial institutions on concrete digital transformation initiatives, positioning Sri Lanka’s banking sector for the next chapter of payments innovation.
