A rescue operation is currently underway after a distress call was received from a vessel at sea off the coast of Galle.
It is reported that a distress call was received from the vessel approximately 40 nautical miles off the coast of Galle.
A rescue operation has been launched at the instructions of the Ministry of Defence.
According to reports, the vessel in distress has been identified as an Iranian vessel.
