Two former Police officers have been sentenced to death over the demise of a suspect in custody in 2005.
The death sentence was issued by the Colombo High Court when the case was taken up for hearing today (Mar 04).
The two Police officers attached to the Peliyagoda Police are accused of assaulting to death a suspect while in custody at the Police station in 2005.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended for having committed a robbery. (NewsWire)
