Police have announced a special traffic plan in Colombo in view of rehearsals and preparations for the 78th National Independence Day celebrations.
Accordingly, rehearsals will be held on January 30, January 31 and February 2, during which traffic restrictions will be enforced around Independence Square from 7.45 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on those days, police said.
Traffic restrictions will also be imposed on February 1 from 5.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., and on February 4 from 5.00 a.m. until the conclusion of the Independence Day ceremony, depending on the situation.
Police said the special traffic plan aims to regulate vehicle movement in Colombo and encourage motorists to use alternative routes during the period of rehearsals and the main ceremony. (Newswire)
