A Baloch man was reportedly subjected to enforced disappearance for the second time after Pakistani forces carried out a raid in the Pasni area of Balochistan on Wednesday.

The man was identified as Syed Muhammad, son of Shahu, a resident of Panwan village near Jewani in Pasni.

According to local sources, the raid took place at around 3 a.m., when forces entered the house, beat several residents and damaged property. During the raid, Syed Muhammad was taken into custody and transferred to an undisclosed location. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Family members said Syed Muhammad had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance and was released after a period of incommunicado detention. They expressed concern that he may once again face prolonged detention or mistreatment.

Locals said several members of the same family, including Noor Bakhsh Kalmati, Jaleel Kalmati, Ali Nawaz Kalmati and Fariq Kalmati, have also been subjected to enforced disappearances in recent years under similar circumstances.

Human rights groups have repeatedly warned that previously disappeared individuals in Balochistan face heightened risks of renewed harassment, intimidation or re-abduction after their release. (The Balochistan Post)
