Sri Lankan arrested at BIA with Rs. 113M worth of Kush

A Sri Lankan passenger was arrested at the Katunayake Airport today (06) by officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division after being found in possession of a large stock of Kush drugs valued at Rs. 113.4 million.

According to reports, the suspect, a 45‑year‑old wage worker residing in Slave Island, Colombo, had arrived at 6:50 am from New Delhi.

Officials discovered 11.340 kilos of Kush concealed inside chocolate wrappings in his travel bag.

The arrested passenger and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the Katunayake Airport Police Narcotics Division for further investigation. (Newswire)
