At least four people were killed and around 40 others injured in a head-on collision between two Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses on the Ambalantota–Kataragama road in Weerawila, Police said.
The injured have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when a bus traveling from Colombo to Kataragama collided with another SLTB bus en route from Tissamaharama to Karapitiya.
Police said further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
