Customs surpasses Rs. 2 trillion in tax revenue for 2025

Sri Lanka Customs on Thursday (30) exceeded the Rs. 2 trillion mark in tax revenue collected for the year. 

Issuing a statement, the Director General of Customs, Seewali Arukgoda, said the department is on track to reach its 2025 revenue target of Rs. 2.115 trillion.

This achievement marks a record-breaking year for Sri Lanka Customs, setting the highest annual revenue ever collected by a government tax department.

Of the total revenue, Rs. 630 billion was generated from motor vehicle imports alone.

Based on current projections, Sri Lanka Customs expects to exceed the annual revenue target by approximately Rs. 300 billion by the end of the year. (Newswire)
