US President Donald Trump says he wants to “take the oil in Iran” and could seize Kharg Island, the country’s main oil export hub, in an interview with the Financial Times.
“My favourite thing is to take the oil in Iran,” Trump said, adding the U.S. could take the island “very easily.”
The remarks come as thousands of additional U.S. troops deploy to the Middle East.
