There has been no final decision on a proposal to raise the minimum age for driving three-wheelers to 40, Minister of Health and Mass Media, Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Jayatissa made the remarks while responding to a statement by Deputy Minister of Vocational Education Nalin Hewage regarding the proposal.
The minister said various proposals had been received from individuals and institutions to provide vocational education and training opportunities to people who had dropped out of school or discontinued their education after the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.
While some of those proposals were being implemented, no decision had yet been taken on raising the minimum age for driving three-wheelers, Jayatissa said. (Newswire)
