The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (28) announced that the decision on the bail application filed by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who is currently in remand custody over the controversial Krish transaction, will be delivered on November 3.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order after considering submissions made by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and the lawyers representing Rajapaksa.

The Parliamentarian has been remanded over allegations of accepting a bribe of Rs. 100 million in connection with the transfer of land at Transworks Square in Colombo Fort to the Krish company for a multipurpose development project.

The allegations relate to the acceptance of the payment in exchange for allegedly facilitating the transfer of the land to the company. (Newswire)
