The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Maligawa, has contributed Rs. 50 million in financial aid to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund.
The Chief incumbents of the Malwathu and Asgiri chapters, along with the committee members and the Maha Sangha, together with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, made the donation to help uplift lives affected by the floods and to rebuild the houses destroyed by the devastating floods.
According to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, the donation was officially handed over to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the presidential secretariat today (11 Dec).
Ven. Mahawela Rathanapala Thero – Deputy Registrar of Malwathu chapter, Ven. Muruddeniye Dhammarathana Thero – Deputy Registrar of Asgiriya chapter, Hon. Pradeep Nilanga Dela – Lay Custodian of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayaka – Presidential Secretary were present during the official handing over. (Newswire)
