
Tender procedures will be initiated to offer 29 currently unused oil tanks in Trincomalee to investors on a long-term lease basis, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Managing Director Mayura Netthikumara said.
Netthikumara said preliminary work related to the tender process is currently underway.
The 29 tanks are among 61 oil tanks owned by Trincomalee Petroleum Terminal Ltd., he said.
Netthikumara also said plans are underway to establish a fuel re-export centre in Trincomalee.
Two oil tanks belonging to the CPC in Trincomalee have already been renovated, while renovation work is currently underway on three more tanks, he said. (Newswire)
