
Sri Lanka’s overall rate of inflation climbed to 8% in August 2026, up from 7.3% in July, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
The Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) shows food inflation rising sharply to 8.5% in August from 6.3% in July.
Meanwhile, non‑food inflation eased slightly to 7.7% compared to 7.8% in July.
