The Colombo High Court has ordered that the case filed by the Attorney General against General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena Organization, Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, to be recalled on July 31.
The monk is accused of making a statement deemed insulting to Islam during a media briefing in Kirulapone in 2016.
The case was taken up today before High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga, as Judge Buddhika C. Ragala was on official leave.
Judge Ranatunga directed that the matter be recalled on July 31 for a preliminary trial conference.
