The Cabinet has approved the construction of 20 sanitary facilities systems in urban areas across Sri Lanka for a cost of Rs. 525.29 million.
The government says it has decided to construct sanitary facilities, including standard lavatory systems, due to a lack of sufficient facilities that can be used by the public and local and foreign tourists visiting urban areas.
According to the urban development plans, appropriate places to establish facilities proposed by the Urban Development Authority have been identified.
