Two Israeli nationals were arrested on Friday (29) by Pottuvil Police for allegedly assaulting a hotel owner and his wife in Arugam Bay, Lankadeepa reported.
According to police, the couple sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital following the attack. The suspects are both 26 years old.
Police said the incident occurred after the two Israelis obstructed the road while the hotel owner and his wife were travelling in their vehicle, leading to a heated argument that escalated into the assault.
The arrested suspects are to be produced before court.
