Kanishka Senanayake, a former Colombo District parliamentary candidate and the son of former Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake, has passed away at the age of 41.
Former Minister Harin Fernando announced Senanayake’s passing in a social media post.
“Gone from our sight, But never from our hearts! Rest easy Brother!” Fernando said.
Senanayake contested the 2020 parliamentary election from the Colombo District under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
He had been involved in politics from a young age and was associated with both the United National Party (UNP) and the SJB.
Senanayake had also held several positions in the corporate sector, including serving as a director of a number of companies.
He was the eldest of three children of Rosy Senanayake and the late Athula Senanayake. (Newswire)
