The Sri Lanka Navy has recovered a consignment of smuggled shampoo packets during a search operation at Urumalei beach in Talaimannar.
The operation was carried out on 13 July by naval personnel attached to SLNS Thammanna under the North Central Naval Command, acting on information received.
During the search, the Navy recovered 5,386 packets of shampoo suspected to have been smuggled into the country.
The recovered stock was handed over to the Talaimannar Police for further investigations and legal action. (Newswire)
