
Sri Lankan police raided a brothel allegedly operating under the guise of a massage centre in Colombo on Friday night, arresting a suspect and nine foreign women, police said.
The raid was carried out on December 19 in the Kollupitiya Police Division by officers attached to the Colombo South Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.
Police said a 58-year-old man from the Ja-Ela area was arrested on suspicion of managing the establishment, which was allegedly being used to provide prostitution services while operating as a massage centre.
Nine foreign women who were present at the premises at the time of the raid were also taken into custody. Police said the women, aged between 25 and 41, are Thai nationals who were allegedly engaged in providing sexual services.
All suspects were produced before the Kollupitiya Police Station for further legal action.
